It seems like we live in some nightmare world where you can choose from 32 genders like ice cream flavors, get as fat as you want because your “healthy at any size” and you should love your body while battling type 2 diabetes at 25, homosexuality is celebrated, where popping a pill is the solution to everything, and few people stand for anything.
How did we get here? Lack of core values and no leadership in the home. More precisely a lack of faith. Men and women are disconnected from the natural roles and energy left adrift in a world of porn, singledom, and hook ups. Men are taught to be feminine. Women are taught to be masculine. And we wonder why Women are more unhappy than they’ve been and men are unfulfilled. They thought overthrowing the patriarchy would liberate them but ladies you have to deal with the stresses of the workplace now that the bra burning is over. Where your split between your devotion to your job and your husband.
We value evil and perversion. Pornstars and dysfunctional celebrities are catapulted to the forefront of media but we don’t champion the home maker or the hardworking dad but we lampoon them as relics of a bygone era not the foundations by which strong families are built. We turn our villains into heroes. Plenty of films and tv shows glamorize the behaviors of criminals (breaking bad, the wire, american gangster ,etc). There’s even a show titled ‘lucifer’ where the devil is portrayed as an aid to mankind not an adversary. The “body positivity” movement enables obesity while attempting to coerce people to except unhealthy bodies as the norm. We set the bar low so no one wants to strive for greatness. When everyones’ a winner we all lose. We’ve replaced faith, nature, and meritocracy with feel good rhetoric.
What do we do to stem the tide. I don’t believe there’s going to be some mass shift in consciousness but we can make people aware of what’s going on in the world. Ultimately it comes down to us living by our faith, principals, encouraging others to do the same, and working with like-minded people.
