Whoa, a month already passed since my first post on steemit. And because my first #introduceyourself post did not get that much recognition (and I also wasn’t quite sure what to write there) I decided to reintroduce myself and also reflect on the first month of being here (so, newcomers might find this useful too).
Biologist, wizard, pirate captain, awesome, humble. Yep. That’s me. I am interested in all kinds of science-related stuff (not only biology) and I like it even more when it is at least a bit silly and not boring. Currently I am finishing my masters studies in Genetics and Molecular biology and want to pursue PhD degree. You might also ask - whats with the skull and mask - well every mad-scientist-super-villain should remain a bit mysterious! And I am low budget for now- #supportforbettermask!
I also want to mention that I am here thanks to my friend 
I have many goals (not dreams) that I want to achieve. I am saying goals, because I believe that I will make them happen.

As I already told you my main interest is biology and that is reflected in my creations as well. I am writing about almost anything that interests me – most of the time something silly! I also have two “series” – one is about Optogenetics and the other about Microbiology.

In the future I would like to work on several different “projects” or “series”. I am planning to pursue the topic of bioterrorism – and how to prevent it. I am also thinking about series focusing on super-heroes and super-villains. I will probably term this series “Save or doom” and the focus will be on different available technologies and how they could be used to either save or doom the world, humanity, etc. Or something. I don’t know. Give me some ideas people! :D
I kind of regard myself as being a newcomer. But I think I got lucky, because some of my posts got quite some attention and I am really grateful for that. Nevertheless, here are some tips that might help you on your steemit journey.
1. Write about anything you want – but make it interesting! Yes, population genetics of plants in Denmark might be the most interesting topic for you. But, probably not for the community here. However, if you manage to present your interest in an intriguing and funny way then you are good to go.
2. Quality! Always try your best! If your only motivation is to get rich fast, then you probably will not get far. Your first and foremost priority is to put effort into your articles. Research the topic you are writing about! And make the article look neat. :)
3. Don’t give up! I think it is fairly hard to get noticed here and get great rewards for your posts. But be persistent and do not give up. After some time, it will pay off. Also, do not get discouraged if a few posts don’t get as much recognition as others – this happens.
4. Sources. This means that you should always add sources of your images and probably some references (this applies mainly to science-related articles).
5. Upvote only things you like. I think that this platform has so much potential. It is not only a tool to get money, it is something that all of us shape. And we can make it to our image by supporting the content we want to have here. So, stay true to yourself and support only articles that you really find interesting and upvote-worthy.
6. Be part of the community! Read other articles, support other authors, comment their work. Reply to comments on your own articles and join steemit chat. And be polite. Always. Do not comment articles that you did not even bother to read – that is disrespectful towards the author.
