So instead of that if I gave those clothes to someone then another person would benefit and the clothes would not be wasted. With time people's weight increases or decreases so now if my weight increases then my old clothes will not fit me anymore right? Now if I keep those clothes thinking that someday I will become slim and wear them again then I think it would be better to give them away because there is no guarantee when I will wear those clothes again. Maybe I won't even wear them again because I might have become bored of wearing those clothes.
Many people think that their old clothes will fit them again and that's why they keep those clothes. I understand this feeling because I have also done this myself. But I still don't think that just because something might fit us again someday we should keep those dresses lying around and let them get damaged. Sometimes there are also memories attached to a dress and because of that we don't feel like giving it away. So I think we should keep occasional dresses but the ones that we wear normally should be given away or we can also sell them. I mean it's a personal choice and I cannot decide what someone should do with their dresses. I have also kept some special dresses like the saree I wore at my wedding. I still have that saree with me and I don't wear it anymore but I have kept it as a memory. We are not responsible for other people but we should also think about others because there are people who cannot buy clothes regularly. There are many people who cannot even afford normal clothes and they have been wearing the same clothes for months or even years because they don't have the ability to buy new clothes. There are also many parents who cannot buy a dress for their children on their birthdays or cannot buy them new dresses for any occasion. So when we see people struggling like this it is normal to feel a little bad. When I think about these people I feel very sad that I have so many clothes lying around that I am not using so why am I not giving them to someone?
That doesn't mean we should give our torn clothes to someone. We should give clothes that are wearable because they are also human beings and they also have self respect. We should give dresses that are in good condition and not damaged or bad clothes because that would show our mentality and how we are treating them. অনেক মানুষ মনে করে যে তাদের আগের কাপড় তাদের গায়ে আবার হবে এজন্য তারা সেই কাপড়গুলা রেখে দেয় আমি বুঝেই ফিলিংস কারণ আমি নিজেও তো এই কাজ করছি। বাট আমার এখনো মনে হয় না যে যেহেতু একসময় হতে পারে গায়ে তার জন্য এরকম ড্রেস ফেলে রাখা উচিত নষ্ট করা উচিত। আবার এমনও হয় যে কোন মেমোরিস থাকে ড্রেসের সাথে যেটার কারণ নেই লিখে দেওয়া হয় তো আমার মনে হয় অকেশনাল ড্রেস রাখা উচিত কিন্তু যেটা নরমাল রে সেটা তো দিয়ে দেওয়া উচিত বা সেল করতে পারে মানে পার্সোনাল চয়েজ আমি তোর ডিসাইড করে দিতে পারব না কে তার ড্রেস দিয়ে কি করবে। আমি তো স্পেশাল ড্রেস খোলা রেখে দিয়েছে যেমন ওর বিয়েতে যে শাড়ি পড়ছে সেটা এখন আমার কাছে আছে সেটা আমার পড়া হয় না কিন্তু আমি তাও রেখে দিয়েছি স্মৃতি হিসেবে। আমরা অন্যদের ঠ্যাকা নিয়ে রেখে নাই কিন্তু আমাদের তো অন্যদের কথা ভাবা আছে যে মানুষ কাপড় কিনতে পারেনা রেগুলার নরমাল কাপড়ও কিনতে পারেনা এরকম অনেক মানুষ আছে একই কাপড় অনেক মাস ধরে অনেক বছর ধরে পরে আসতেছে কারণ তাদের সামর্থ্য নিয়ে নতুন কাপড় কেনার এমন অনেক আছে যে নিজেদের বাচ্চাদের জন্য বার্থডেতে একটা ড্রেস দিতে পারেনা বা কোন অকেশনে কখনো ড্রেস কিনে দিতে পারেনা বাবা মা তো এরকম মানুষ যখন স্ট্রাগল করে দেখে একটু খারাপ লাগা তো স্বাভাবিক। তো আমি যখন এরকম মানুষদের কথা চিন্তা করি তখন আমার খুব কষ্ট লাগে যা আমার এত কাপড় পড়ে আছে যেগুলো আমি ইউজ করতেছি না তাহলে কেন আমি এগুলো দিয়ে দিচ্ছি না কাউকে।
তার মানে এই না যে আমাদের ছেঁড়া কাপড়গুলা কাউকে দিয়ে দেওয়া উচিত পড়ার মত কাপড় দেওয়া উচিত কারণ তারাও তো মানুষ তাদের একটা সেলফ এক্সপেক্ট আছে। ভালো কন্ডিশনে আছে এরকম ড্রেস দেওয়া উচিত নাকি তাদের নষ্ট খারাপ জমা দেওয়া উচিত এতে করে তো আমাদের মানসিকতাই দেখা দিবে যে আমরা কিভাবে তাদেরকে ট্রিট করতেছি। তারা গরীব হতে পারে তার মানে তো এই না যে তাদের সাথে এরকম বাজে বিহ্যাব করা উচিত। আমার কাছে কাপড় দান করার বিষয়টা খুব ভালো লাগে এতে করে যে কাপড়টা আমার জন্য ইউজফুল হচ্ছে। এরকম বছরের পর বছর কাপড় ফেলে না রাখে আমার কাছে ডোনেট করা বেশি বোধগম্য মনে হয়। যাইহোক আজকে পর্যন্ত এবং তোমরা সবাই আমার ফ্যামিলির জন্য দোয়া করবা।
