Hello friends, how are you all? I hope everyone is doing well. I am also doing well. Today I am making this post to participate in a contest of Ladies of Hive. And the reason I selected the topic for my post is because I found this thing very relatable to me, that is why I thought I would write about it. In life, people try a lot, and people obviously try to bring another person down. So, how did I deal with these things? That is what I will tell you today.
If someone wants to stay mentally healthy, then what they have to do is not listen to what other people say. Otherwise, we will all become mentally distressed, and it will not cause any problem for that other person because it will only become our problem because we will think about it a lot. And on the other side, the person who is saying these things to us will live very happily and peacefully, thinking that they have conquered the world.
I have one pain in my heart, which is that when I was little, my teeth were protruding. Not only my teeth, but my mother, my brother, my family, I mean everyone in my family has this type of protruding teeth. So, what hurts me is that because of this, people used to bother me a lot. After I got married, even from my in-laws' house, some people did not look at me positively because I had a love marriage. And my religion is different from my husband's, so they would find something about me to criticize. They talked about my physical appearance. Someone might say I am short, someone might say my teeth are protruding, someone or another would criticize me in some way all the time.
But I never stopped because of these things. If someone says these things to me, I just stay quiet and listen because I think there is no benefit in talking about these things, and it will also waste my time. The person who is saying these things to me surely has a very bad opinion about me in their mind or they dislike me. So, if I try to make them understand that their words hurt me, I don't think they will correct themselves. They may like it more and think, "Then I should say this again and again because now I know I can hurt her." So, if someone ever talks about my teeth, I simply ignore what they say.
I don't want to change myself because of what other people say. But I did have a wish that I would get braces. Now I have become older, so it is not possible to get braces. The last time I went to the dentist, the dentist said that braces would not work for me and that I would have to remove my teeth. So, I thought, should I remove my teeth now just because of what other people say? And people who have removed their wisdom teeth know how painful removing teeth can be.
I never pay attention to what people say because my husband and my children love me very much. They have never pointed out my teeth, my face, or any small details about me. They have always been by my side, and they also tell me that I look beautiful to them. So, why should I care whether other people think I look beautiful or not? This is how I deal with these situations.
Because when people keep saying these things again and again, even if I don't want to, their words get into my head, and I feel like I should change. But actually, we should not do that. If we want to change something about any part of our body, I think we should only do it when we ourselves feel that it needs to be changed, not because someone else tells us to change it.
Today I will end here. I hope everyone stays well and lives happily and peacefully. Please pray for my family. Thank you everyone for reading my post.
And happy 6th anniversary to every member of this community!
