It’s been a while here and I’ve missed posting here, few months back I began crocheting and I’m proud to say I’ve improved so much just from watching more YouTube videos and being patient with myself—just like the saying "Practice makes perfect".
I’ve crocheted some hair accessories for myself, my daughter and family. And today I’ll be sharing with you one of the things I made. This is a crochet scrunchie with a cherry design, I made it specially for my daughter as an Easter gift.
Materials used-
A 3.5mm yarn hook.
An elastic hair tie.
Two different colours of yeye wool yarn.
A scissors.
A darning needle for hiding the ends of excess yarn.
The Process-
1) I started off with the ash colour yarn, because that was the main colour I wanted. I created a slip knot and began single crocheting around the hair tie.

2) I slip stitched, chained three and inserted two double crochets into the same stitch as I chained.
3) I began inserting three (3) double crochets in each stitch around, slip stitched and chained one (1). I left a young yarn to make a connection later.
4) I used pink-coloured yarn for the cherries (cherries are usually red but I wanted to play with colours). I started with a magic ring, chained three (3) and inserted fourteen (14) double crochets into the ring. I slip stitched and chained one (1).
5) Repeated process 4 and had two pink cherries. I used a darning needle to hide their excesses.
LEAVES
1) Created a slip knot and chained twenty chains.
2) Skipped the first chain and slip stitched in the second stitch. Placed a single crochet in the next stitch, a half double crochet in the next, three double crochet in the next three stitches, a half double crochet in the next and a single crochet in the next (sl st, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc).
I placed three slip stitches in the next three stitches.
Till the end of the chain, I placed a single crochet, half double crochet, three double crochets, half double crochet, single crochet and a slip stitch.
3) Moved over to the other side and skipped a chain. In all stitches, I placed a single crochet, half double crochet, three double crochets, half double crochet, single crochet and three slip stitches.
4) I continued with a single crochet, half double crochet, three double crochets, half double crochet, a single crochet, slip stitch and chained one. My final result for my leaf:
Used a darning needle to hide the excess.
Connection
1) I slip stitched to one of the cherries, chained fourteen and connected it to the leaf using a slip stitch.
2) I chained fourteen again, slip stitched to the other cherry and chained one.
3) I then used a darning needle again and this was the final look.
4) Used the long yarn to tie them together.
