One benefit of a bigger car
When some roads are prone to flash flooding a bigger car/4wd can be handy. The increased ground clearance, elevated driving position and of course heavier vehicle can all combine to make it an easier affair to get through standing water and arrive at your destination.
While having a suitable vehicle is half the battle the other half is the driver. The driver however should still know what they are doing, not like the driver in the picture below.
This person has entered the water far too fast, it causes a lot of spray, and unless your doing it for a magazine shoot or happen to be racing in a closed street circuit then a much slower speed would have been more suitable. Going too fast like this also gives everyone else driving these cars a bad image as these pics get uploaded all over the place.
