I bought a car last year in the month of November, but I purchased the annual pass for the Fastag in the month of January this year. Those who do not know about the fast pass and the well pass, I would like to mention here that it is a pass which is valid for 1 year and allows 200 trips, where one toll gate exit is called one trip. When I purchased, the cost of the annual pass was ₹3,000, which means roughly one toll exit will cost ₹15. I guess there are a lot of people who will not be able to utilize the entire count of trips allocated for the whole year.
But I think that I am doing much better here because I am left with just 31 trips valid till the first week of January. As we are in the first week of October, I am left with roughly 3 months. In these 3 months' time, I need to utilize these 31 trips, which is roughly 10 trips in a month, so I guess I will be able to utilize it well.
In the last one year, I have done so many road trips through my car, and I'm very happy with my Fastag annual pass experience because with this, I could save a lot of money! I highly recommend this product to the people who travel a lot through their own vehicle. In India, the average cost of one toll is roughly between ₹100 and ₹150, and I'm sure whoever does not have the pass will end up spending a lot of money as compared to what one can spend with the FASTag annual pass.
There is a catch: this annual pass will be applicable only on the highways and expressways which are managed by the government. If there is any highway or expressway which is managed by a private entity, then this annual pass will not be applicable, and standard charges will be deducted from the FASTag account.
In the beginning, I was not really aware of that, but when I got to know, then I spent some time to figure out how I can plan things better, where I get help from Google Gemini. Every time I plan a trip, I ask for the route through Google Gemini, where I cross highways and expressways that are managed by the government only. There have been multiple trips when I did not even pay for a single toll because I planned my trip through the route which completely goes through the government-managed highway and expressways. That is where this pass is really very helpful. Thank you!
