The one that broke me most was done to me by my cousin; I could still remember that year almost like three years ago.I got an appointment to represent someone for an opportunity. It was given to me by a friend. It was his sister I needed to represent, but then he told me it comes with a condition. He was going to get his own share of the money. I didn't have a problem with that, but then I was so busy that period I couldn't go for the work; instead, I asked my cousin to do it in place of me.She agreed, and it was a relief because I kept on thinking of how I was going to handle it.
It was going to take 5 days maximum. We talked about it, and she promised to do it. We kept in contact, though I thought it was going to go smoothly, but then she needed some necessary information for whoever she was representing, and she called for almost 10 minutes. Whenever she requests something, I have to reach out to the person. At some point I got tired and instead gave her the number of the person she was representing for easy communication.
The work was over, and she got paid and was silent; she didn't even try to reach out. I got to know from someone else. I asked her to send some of the money so I could give the guy his own percentage. I didn't mind giving her mine, but instead she refused. She didn't pick my calls anymore and even blocked me from reaching her. The guy was on my neck asking for his own part of the money. I tried to calm him down by assuring him my cousin was going to send the money, but she didn't.
Any number I tried to reach out to her, she blocked it. I thought I could settle this amicably, but she didn't want that. She took all the money, and I was so disappointed. I was stunned at her attitude that she could actually do this to me. What if then I was a stranger?
I reached out to her mother and explained everything that transpired between us, and that was when she released some of the money to me.Her mother later apologized on her behalf, and I shouldn't allow this to come between the both of us. Funny we got back together, and we still talk most of the time. I can still remember what my father told me then.
