A month ago when Trump was ramping up to bomb Syria yet again on baseless accusations of chemical weapons attacks by the Syrian government I thought - What can I do to prevent this, this time?
I recently moved to San Jose, CA from Atlanta and decided to look up who my representative was:
Lucky me.
He does not take money from corporations - as almost every other politician in Washington is essentially bribed:

Also if you look on his site, he actually responds to his constituents:
My first thoughts when I saw this is that no way a congressman would respond to a commoner like me.
Well I was wrong.
I did send him a note via his site asking him to do everything he can to prevent Trump from unilaterally bombing Syria. I also mentioned that impeachment is justified should Trump move forward as he must seek congressional approval first.
Here was his response:
I was very happy to have been heard. While Trump ultimately carried this action out, I do believe we have some members of Congress that are trying to fight against the Military Industrial Complex and change things up in Washington.
While I do not agree with all of Mr. Khanna's stances, I would definitely vote for him moving forward for not only this reason but his consistency in his words, actions and stances since he has been elected.
I am hoping this post inspires people to not just assume that their representative is just another bought politician, but may be one who is worth a damn.
