A perfect example that Health problems of The Grand Tour team wasn't an issue in the S02E07, which as far is the best episode in season 2.
Below I will not avoid spoilers regarding the 7th episode of TGT, so if someone has not seen it yet and does not want to know its content, I recommend to stop reading on this paragraph.
Lamborghini Huracan Performante test
The Grand Tour 02 × 07 started in my opinion the weakest accent in the entire episode, a test on the track. The weakest, because the most standard. Richard Hammond tested another supercar. We had great shots, editing, script.
Drag race with James May in Ferrari was some kind of change that gave a little bit of color. I am disappointed , that having such capabilities, the TGT team does not use them to test supecars in vicinity of the track, to show how they are doing in more prosaic situations.
Conversation Street
As I usually like this part in my opinion, , there were too many non-motorized topics. I do not mind a delicate off-topic, moving issues not entirely related to cars, to achieve the desired effect of funny moments, but in S02E07 was too much.
Refueling without stopping
This material was 100% made of necessity, as Jeremy himself mentioned - that he was ill at the time. We would probably get a movie in this part in which all the members of the presenters team would take part but we received the efforts of James and Richard to eliminate the problem of stopping for refueling.
In my opinion they were great because of humor. This material did not have any value, no deeper message - it was made typically on the basis of "throw proposals and choose the most absurd ones". Great and funny, reminded me of the old episodes of TG.
Lancia vs Audi
In the last part of the program there was a material that interested me very much. Jerermy Clarkson takes the viewer to the '80s. He talks about Lanci's duel with Audi during the races. It was the period when Audi was the first to introduce the 4 × 4 drive to its racing cars, which made it unbeatable. Lancia with rear-wheel drive decided to face them. We have two heroes: Germany, strong and organized Audi and Italian spontaneous but above all clever . The Grand Tour has shown that it can do a very good documentary. There are authentic cars from those races there were interviews with Audi and Lancia drivers from that period, there was even a reconstruction of the scenes that could have taken place .
Generally The Grand Tour S02E07 made a great impression on me. From a decent beginning, to a brilliant finale. I am looking forward to see more in the next episode , especially when they show history of motoring.
