Robert de Niro, a Hollywood legend who seems to have resumed the roles for which he achieved worldwide notoriety. It's a valid point, he was already a star who could do whatever he wanted, but since he came back to collaborate with Sorcorse, he's back to roles I like.

De Niro plays George Mullen, a former president of the United States who only had one term and ended up resigning, but who, according to the plot, is loved and respected by the population. His mind doesn't seem to be right and can lead him to make mistakes that call into question his ability.

Es cierto que tuvo una larga temporada en la que decidió participar en películas no tan buenas, pero el mimo dijo hace tiempo que sólo quería cobrar y pasarlo bien. Es un punto válido, ya era una estrella que podía hacer lo que quisiera, pero desde que volvió a colaborar con Sorcorse, ha vuelto a papeles que me gustan.

Esta miniserie está creada para su total lucimiento. Él es el protagonista y la historia gira en torno a su personaje. De Niro interpreta a George Mullen, un ex presidente de los Estados Unidos que sólo tuvo un mandato y acabó dimitiendo, pero que, según la trama, es querido y respetado por la población. Su mente no parece estar bien y puede llevarle a cometer errores que ponen en duda su habilidad.

The new war is digital and the enemy can be anywhere, even within the government itself. The typical conspiracies of these thrillers, with spies, villains who only seek power and money, political betrayals, there is a whole cocktail that makes the plot entertaining and does not lose interest. Although for me the last episode was too long for what should close , but everything is to enjoy Rober De Niro.

Of course there are political references following the Hollywood trend. The really bad politicians seem to be the Republicans and the not so bad ones the Democrats. The president is a woman of African descent, surely the creators thought Kamala would win and wanted to gain sympathy with her. There are also villains who own hedge funds. One scene even reminded me of the ultimate fate of Epstein and McAffee. There is a tech billionaire in the series who also villains, only in this case she is female. Admittedly, the only character who is very good is the one played by De Niro, but he also has his secrets and ghosts from the past.

There are situations that I found somewhat implausible, but since it's something to kill time, I'm not going to get too picky about it. Likewise, the whole secret weapon (Proteos) thing comes to nothing, at the end I was left wondering if it was put into practice or if it's just old man ravings.

There's a good cast backing up De Niro. Already familiar faces in movies and series that perfectly fulfill the assigned roles. The fate of some will be quite black and it is not that they earn much sympathy from the viewer.

¿Quién es el enemigo? ¿Rusia, China, un grupo interno? Muchas ramificaciones se entretejen en un ataque rodeado de teorías conspirativas. La nueva guerra es digital y el enemigo puede estar en cualquier parte, incluso dentro del propio gobierno. Las conspiraciones típicas de estos thrillers , con espías , villanos que solo buscan poder y dinero, traiciones políticas , hay todo un cóctel que hacen que la trama sea entretenida y no pierda interés. Aunque para mi el último episodio se me hizo demasiado largo para lo que debería cerrar , pero todo sea por disfrutar de Rober De Niro.

Por supuesto hay referencias políticas siguiendo la tendencia de Hollywood. Los políticos malos malísimos parecen ser los republicanos y los no tan malos los demócratas. El presidente es una mujer afrodescendiente, seguramente los creadores pensaron que Kamala ganaría y quisieron ganar simpatías con ella. También hay villanos propietarios de fondos de cobertura. Una escena incluso me recordó al destino final de Epstein y McAffee. Hay un millonario de la tecnología en la serie que también villano, sólo que en este caso es mujer. Es cierto que el único personaje que está muy bien es el interpretado por De Niro, pero también tiene sus secretos y fantasmas del pasado.

Hay situaciones que me parecieron algo inverosímiles, pero como es algo para matar el tiempo, no me voy a poner muy quisquilloso al respecto. Del mismo modo, todo el asunto del arma secreta (Proteos) no llega a nada, al final me quedé con la duda de si se puso en práctica o si sólo son desvaríos del viejo.

Hay un buen reparto respaldando a De Niro. Caras ya conocidas en películas y series que cumplen perfectamente con los papeles asignados. El destino de algunos será bastante negro y no es que se ganen mucha simpatía del espectador.
