A poetic interpretation of Beethoven’s Fur Elise; one of his most popular works. I learned how to play this in my seventh year of piano, and it's always been one of my favourites (in spite of the fact that Mozart is my very favourite ever).
Immortal Beloved
Elise, Elise, your scent lingers still
Caresses my heart as hands stroke the keys
Immortal beloved, queen of serene beauty
Tranquil nocturne eyes kissing the notes
In harmony with memory as I play
Diaphanous dreams waltz in my mind
Your soft essence awakens my soul
No potion for love needs cross my eyes
As was requisite for Oberon and Titania
In the light of the fairy moon
Elise, Elise, I whisper your name
Sweet serenade of longing in the night
With staccato sighs in silken sheets
That bind us as truly as my adoration
Building love’s edifice in Heaven
I play back that time with sore regret
Would that Puck could do the deed
And return you now, back to my arms
Ever thine, ever mine, throughout time
