I generally walk about 5km every morning on my treadmill at home but have been at my dads place since Wednesday, so no treadmill... not that I am complaining because there is a "natural arena" here. Yesterday, we took a drive down to the lagoon for a walk.
I think one of the things that strikes you first is the lack of people! After our entire walk we had only seen one other person! It was absolutely idyllic!
It is about a 4km walk along the waters edge to the mouth where the lagoon meets the ocean. It is probably one of the most meditative walks I have ever done. There is nothing but nature surrounding you - not a human in sight and just this open endless stretch!
I tried really hard to get a decent photo of the flamingo's but the closer I got, the louder their objections became... it was quite amusing to listen to.
It was quite a challenge crossing the sections of water - as Herbie is a little weary of the water and it took a fair amount of coaxing to get him to walk through it... but he did, so it was a little bit of life experience for him, lol.
The entire walk is beautiful, but I have to say that my best was arriving on the ocean side! The waves at this beach are like no other I have ever seen! They are incredibly wild and no doubt very dangerous... but so very beautiful to watch and to listen to!
So that was about 8km of flawless beauty! Just thought I would share it with all of you :)
❤❤❤
Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx
