I enjoyed your story, zyzymena@zyzymena. I like how you set the scene in the first paragraph, and then jump right into the story's action and conflict — which we can clearly see is a difference of class, lifestyle and choices among the women. The conflict develops further, as Mimi distances herself by taking the taxi and treating them with disdain as she enters her apartment.

The story arc is very good too, with her becoming ill and needing help and hospitalization, which is resolved in the end. And of course it's not perfectly resolved — which is an excellent touch. If "everyone lived happily ever after" it would not seem realistic. Gladys chooses to do the right thing. And we get the sense that Nneka will come around eventually as well, if Mimi stays off of her high horse!
