I love to see what you produce with that complicated mind of yours, @stuartcturnbull! You have a brilliant internal monologue and so many amazing observations about this complex human existence. But I'd like to steer you toward a better center of gravity where creative nonfiction is concerned.
If you have read our prompts, you will see that it is really all about storytelling from a personal perspective. We are not looking for philosophy or history or pontification, or anything else. Just storytelling about your own life and experiences.
Where have you been? What did you see there? Who are the people who had a personal impact on you? What did you learn from those moments in time? What is the story you want to tell around a specific encounter or phase of your life that will give the rest of us a clear understanding of the importance of those events?
Please take a few minutes to study the information and resources in the "What Is Creative Nonfiction?" section of our creative nonfiction prompts. You'll see that what we are looking for is personal storytelling — not philosophy, history, ruminating, etc. Good luck and keep writing!
