What a wonderful gift he gave you! And what a relief, too. I remember in the early days of being a mother, I was sometimes disappointed that my husband didn't make much of Mother's Day. Finally, I told him that it is a very important day to me. Even more important than my birthday. I explained: Everyone has a birthday, and it's not something that you have achieved. It is something that happened to you. But being the mother of these three beautiful, healthy children is something that belongs to me alone. It is my life's greatest achievement." He has never overlooked Mother's Day again!
