Just finally had a chance to read your story, @juanvegetarian. Wow, this reads like the chapter of a novel! I read your explanation of your thoughts about it in your response to The Ink Well comment. The introduction of Mara at the end really does introduce a new element. Suddenly the "work" Maria is doing seems like something shady... or perhaps she is an undercover agent or something. I think your story could easily end there, without introducing an element that launches a new story line or chapter. 😀

It's a good story. Very captivating! I love your character development and dialog, and you do a really nice job of weaving those elements in with narrative and action.

By the way, I noticed that your source links are going to Pixabay and to the artist's page. You need to link the actual image. So, when you click on an image in Pixabay, it's the URL of that image's page you need to provide. Could you please be sure to add the correct links for each of the images?
