I love this idea, @amritadeva. I will plan a post on "world building."

The thing I have found to be incredibly effective in fantasy and science fiction stories is that enough is altered from the reality we know to make it intriguing without it being so foreign that the reader can't connect with it.

So maybe choose the specific things that make that world, that you can be sure to write into the story in a consistent and authoritative way, and then create a sense of "normal" with details that feel familiar. The latter can be anything from familiar personality traits in your characters to what it's like to walk into a store or a bar - a familiar experience but altered for the world you've built - like in the classic bar scene in Star Wars.
