Your writing voice always blows me away, agmoore@agmoore. But this one really took me down. You brought such authenticity and raw beauty to the storytelling here. I kept copying passages and thinking, "this is one I must absolutely highlight and comment on." And then there would be another stunning passage.

She was right, of course. The grass on the front yard often grew quite long. It stayed that way until my brother cut it with a scythe. We must have looked like pond people, with our miss-matched, miss-sized clothing, as we approached their car through the overgrown yard.

How do we teach writers to bring us into their stories in the unabashed, soul-bearing way you did here?

Well, I'm a fan girl, I guess. But you knew that!
