How wonderful to get your personal experience and perspective, adetorrent@adetorrent. I will admit to being somewhat glued to Twitter and news feeds the past two weeks. What a life to celebrate. What an amazing reign and incredible legacy.

I too saw a news clip about David Beckham standing in line with the throng, patiently waiting his turn to pay his respects. He seemed like a pretty down-to-earth guy. He was very appreciative of his opportunities and had met the queen.

Shazam, you saw Diana’s hearse go by back in the day? Oh wow I was one of those people who was traumatized by her death in some personal way. What a tragic life.

Here’s hoping the royal family can carry on. The passing of Queen Elizabeth shouldn’t de facto necessitate change, and yet it very well could. We shall see whether King Charles can galvanize the people and parliament and carry the torch.
