I looked out the window this morning to see an enormous pileated woodpecker enjoying my suet feeder. He was so beautiful! Unfortunately I didn’t grab my phone quickly enough, and he was gone.

I had just gotten this new suet, and I hung it on a plant hanger where I was certain the squirrels couldn’t get it. How wrong I was! My ridiculous neighborhood squirrels quickly demonstrated their climbing prowess!
What do you think? Can he do it? It’s a six foot high slippery pole!
Yeah, he can do it. It was pretty much a cake walk for this nimble little guy!
So I ran out there and shooed him away. Twice! And then I moved the suet feeder to another plant hanger that is even taller. He actually didn’t climb back up. Instead he just gave me this sad look. What do you think the caption should be for this picture?
Unfortunately another squirrel was at it too!
