We flew out of snowy Minneapolis today and now we are walking around in sleeveless tops, shorts and sandals in the Dominican Republic. It's glorious!
Here's what snow looks like from a plane:
It was really fun to watch the snow disappear as we moved southeast.
It was a five hour flight, and it felt great to get off the plane and stretch when we arrived in the Dominican Republic.
The teens are pretty excited about spring break!
By the time we got to the resort, it was almost dark and we were all very hungry. So we didn't go straight to the beach! But we enjoyed walking around and looking at all the pools, ponds and lights.
I had to use flash to capture these flamingos. I'll try to get a better picture of them tomorrow.
We almost immediately went to dinner. The teenagers get to drink here (whereas back home the have to wait until age 21), so they have entered the adult world!
We all sat in deck chairs by the ocean tonight, chatting and listening to the sound of the waves. Amazing! I'll share more pictures tomorrow.
