I had a great day for steps on Sunday, with two long walks and a lot of work around the house. I was highly motivated for three reasons.
First, I listen to books while I walk, and I needed to read a book end-to-end for my book club on Monday night.
Second, I’m at almost the perfect weight right now and really want to maintain it because my daughter’s wedding is just over a week away and I have a rather sleek sheath dress I’ll be wearing.
And finally, I keep thinking if I get a ton of exercise, I’ll sleep like a baby at night. Such is not the case, unfortunately.
At any rate, here are a few pictures from my two walks.
The first walk was around a wildlife reservoir.
Most of the trail is around a wetland area. But there is also a beautiful park on one side of the reservoir, with gorgeous flower gardens and a really lovely and solemn WWII memorial.
The second walk was around the neighborhoods near my house. It’s quite easy to walk for miles through quiet neighborhoods and parks from where I live.
I know I have not been around much. It’s just because my schedule is so hectic. And in the summer I’m totally on the go — hiking, biking, gardening, playing pickleball, and running around with friends. I always have to mention this when I make excuses for my absences. I’m on Hive every single day, as a co-admin of The Ink Well community. I just run out of time and steam for engaging from my own account!
