The trail was stunning today, with the tree shadows falling across the snow.
The weather finally warmed, and it was a balmy 40 degrees Fahrenheit when my husband and I went walking. Just to be clear, that is about 50 degrees warmer than it was in the coldest days of our deep freeze last week. I never even went outside when it was that cold.
By contrast, today I ran some errands, took the car to the car wash, went to the gym and spent about 40 minutes on the elliptical machine, then joined up with my husband for a trail walk… and I had to take my coat off for a while!
I’m not sure why the snow completely covers the trail in some places and the trail is bare in others. I surmise that it has to do with some simple things like tree cover combined with more complex things like wind direction and velocity.
It was such a gorgeous day. There were a lot of people on the trail. And out in a marsh a little way off the trail, someone was skating on an ick rink that had been cleared on a pond. It was a lovely sight.
Here’s a zoomed in version.
Well that’s the end of this post, my friends. Until next time!
