Today was probably my worst day for steps in months. Generally I get to around 10k, but not today!
Why? Tornado!
There were warnings all day that the conditions that make tornados possible were building, and that everyone should stay tuned to the news or weather radar as evening approached.
My husband and I decided to make a run for it after dinner, and try to get a quick walk in around our neighborhood before the storm hit. But the day had turned dark and the wind was blowing the trees all around us. Lightning was flashing through the clouds and the skies looked like this:
I took pictures every few moments, as the skies were swirling with massive, fast-moving clouds.
Needless to say, we only got a half a block away and had to run back. The wind was so fierce and the rain had started. We got inside and the rain came down!
It was pouring sideways, and the air was a lurid sparkling gray-white with the sheets of violent rain. We would have been drenched!
Later we learned there had been a tornado a ways away.
