A Gold miner, J. J. Barry was caught in the gold-rush and went digging in search for riches. 'I have found a spot where we could dig and become rich with gold' he said to his family members. They had never heard or believed that more gold could be mined from the earth.
The miner took some workers and went to work on the site with just picks and shovels. After weeks of persistent labor his hard work was rewarded when he discovered a shinning ore in the mist of the dirt. He needed heavy machinery to dig and bring this shinning ore above. So he secretly covered up the mine, paid off the workers he hired and went in search of funds to buy such machinery. He got a loan, borrowed cash from friends and bought the machinery and shipped it to the spot to work on the mine.
The first wave of gold ore was mined and sent to processing. This was just a piece of the whole package of riches. Work had continued for months and the appearance of gold ore disappeared! He had come to the end of the bridge, and the pot of gold was no longer visible. 'Drill on'! he said desperately, trying to pick up the trail again but to no success.
Finally, He decided to quit. He sold the machinery to one of the workers for far less the price he bought it and not even enough to clear off his debt. He went back home in disappointment.
After a couple of weeks the worker who now own the drilling machinery called some mining exerts to evaluate the mine's statics. The engineers calculations were that the gold ore would be found just feets from where Mr. J. J. Barry decided to quit his search. 'Bring in the machine lets go more further' the new owner said! And that is exactly where the much larger and untapped gold ore was.
The worker took great fortune in Gold mining because he knew and sought for counsel before giving up!.
