As a relatively new user on Hive, I faced a challenge that might be familiar to many of you: delegating Hive Power (HP) and retrieving it when needed. I was eager to understand the process, but found it tricky to navigate.

Luckily, I reached out to a kind stranger, @riyat, who graciously offered to help me understand the delegation process. We discussed it further on Discord, and I was amazed at how simple it was once explained.

What is Delegation?

Delegation is the process of temporarily lending your Hive Power to another user or project. This allows them to benefit from your HP, while you still maintain ownership and control.

• Earn curation rewards on delegated content

How to Delegate HP using Ecency:

1. Log in to Ecency using your Hive account

1. Navigate to the "Wallet" section

1. Click on "HP" and select "Delegate"

1. Enter the recipient's username and amount of HP to delegate

1. Confirm the transaction

How to Retrieve Delegated HP using Ecency:

1. Log in to Ecency using your Hive account

1. Navigate to the "Wallet" section

1. Click on "HP" and select "Delegations"

1. Find the delegation you want to retrieve and click "Withdraw"

1. Confirm the transaction

With Ecency, you can easily delegate and retrieve your Hive Power, making it simple to support your favorite projects and communities while maintaining control over your assets.
