Money can be printed, earned, raised, stolen and borrowed. Society trains us to believe that it is THE MOST valuable commodity one can possess. The truth is MONEY is a renewable resource. If you have the necessary skills, creativity and ambition you can obtain mountains of money. But looking at value through the lens of SCARCITY you can never MAKE/EARN more TIME. TIME is the precursor to money; thus, time is synonymous with money. The wealthy mind thinks in terms of this equation:

MONEY = TIME

Just as the body stores energy for the future in the way of fat, we (as humans) store labor for the future in the form of money. By storing labor for future use we allow ourselves the freedom to participate in other actives of our choosing. So if we can use money to buy freedom, and you can only participate in freedom if you have time to spare… then wouldn’t it be true that TIME is MONEY and FREEDOM?

SO LETS THINK ABOUT THAT LOGIC A LITTLE MORE

If TIME is the same thing as MONEY this is a direct challenge to the traditional job. We all, for the most part, are compensated in money for our products or services. Using this logic, we can surmise that that jobs that provide us spare time are as valuable as those that provide a proportionate amount of money. The LIFE GUARD and the CEO may be more equal in compensation than society leads us to believe. The only real difference between them (besides material possessions) is that one ALREADY HAS TIME and the other has to BUY IT.

“SALARY” VS “PER HOUR”

The word “SALARY” was made up by WHITE COLLAR AMERICA and means “WILL WORK FOR LESS”. In the REAL WORLD, everyone works on a “PER HOUR” basis. There are a total of 8,760 total hours in a calendar year; the salaried individual is paid a firm fixed price for their labor. That price remains the same if you work 2,000 or 8,760 hours. To understand you real pay rate simply perform the following calculation

ANNUAL SALARY
---------------- (DIVIDED BY)------------------- = HOURLY PAY RATE
HOURS SPENT WORKING DURING THE YEAR

The person who is paid $50K and works 40 hours a week IS PAID MORE than the person who works 60 hours a week. THE GOAL is to find a way to work the least amount of hours possible for THE MOST MONEY possible. This you MAXIMIZE both your hourly pay rate and AVAILABLE FREE TIME… this, my friends, is the TRUE DEFINITION OF WEALTH.

Think well. Achieve More. Live Better.
