Good Morning!
The other day some colleagues and I were arguing about what is happiness. One said it's the freedom to do whatever he wants whenever he wants. He was talking from the point of view of not having to care for anyone and being alone. For me being alone works just for a while. I don’t think we are supposed to be lonely creatures. Another colleague said; that freedom is happiness. I think he was referring at how life doesn’t let us be happy. We grow up worrying about making money, buying stuff, paying bills and we end up living to survive our responsibilities.
I think at the end it all depends on the color of the glass we are looking through. There is no exact formula for happiness. What makes me happy won't make you happy. I always think that perfection is relative to the person. The same applies to happiness.
What I can tell you is that the little things in life can make you happy and sometimes we take them for granted. Sometimes we go through life without taking a moment to look around us and enjoy all the blessings we have. We don’t take into account all the little things that added together make our life full. It's the love of our partner. The smile of our children. The hug of a friend. Going home to our parents and being welcomed with great joy even if we haven't been there for a while. It's having food on our table. Sometimes happiness is enjoying a nice cold beer with your father, your brother or your best friends. It's being healthy. Helping others will make you happy. There are lots of little and simple stuff that could make us happy if we realize they are a blessing. Some of us are accustomed to having so many things that we forget how of a blessing it is to have them. To be happy we have to be grateful for everything we have, and I mean everything. This doesn’t mean we have to stop pursuing better and nicer things. Happiness will make your journey through life more enjoyable.
Sometimes happiness is waking up in the morning and realizing that you have another opportunity to be present and enjoy the little things in life!
What makes you happy? Go on, sit down and make a list of the things that make you happy. It’s a wonderful experience.
