While searching for someone to make a post to, I came across a quote that someone said was from the Dalai Lama. I'm not familiar with Dalai Lama quotes, so I took it to be a true quote. It didn't make sense to me, and I was the only poster that couldn't readily agree with what happiness was according to the quote. I was the only poster that wasn't thanked for my comment, and I didn't feel right having a contrary thought. I started thinking, that it wasn't my purpose here to be contrary. So I deleted my post there and edited wherever I thought might be inappropriate words on other posts.
"Happiness is not something done, it comes from your deeds" was the quote. I thought deeds were something that you do.
Did that really come from the Dalai Lama, or is it a misquote? Why would the Dalai Lama say something that doesn't make any sense? Or refutes itself. And why would people embrace a thought just because someone said this person said it?
Are blind minds following blind minds? Do we know what we are agreeing with? Can another person tell you what happiness is? It's individual and personal, and one can only speak for his or herself. Others can tell us, or maybe we can read their reactions and expressions, more so if we know them. Oh well, find it if you can.
