We woke up at 5 am to drive to the Sonoma Coast in California to watch the sun rise above the sea mist.
In the silence, we watched a pair of otters splash their tails in a swirling mating dance under the thick grey sky. A herd of deer grazed on the rugged hillside in a pool of wildflowers.
