Happy HumpDay #WednesdayWalk community by @tattoodjay. It's been a while since I posted one here and I guess this is only my second time now. I hope to visit this community more in the following days.
When I visited the SummerFest one weekend, I had a chance to, once again, walk along Central Harbourfront and Tamar Park which I haven't visited for years.
Except for the new installations at Tamar Park, almost nothing has changed. The massive Ferris wheel and skyscrapers along the harbor are just a few of the attractions. The outlying cities and islands are visible from the harbourfront, and I feel compelled to visit them one of these days. Those cities seem calm from the distance despite being bustling within them.
The harborfront is ideal for walking, jogging, biking, skateboarding, gatherings, and yoga exercises, and some can even catch fish along the harbor. The pier cover walk is also large, and some foreign workers gather there every holiday. And who is taken aback by its architecture? You certainly did, because I did.
Tamar Park, meanwhile, is one of Hong Kong Island's largest urban parks. It has a large green field where visitors can pitch their tents, hold events, have a picnic, or just hang out with their friends and family. Some yoga and Zumba lovers use this park as a practice and meditation area.
During special occasions like Christmas, you could see thousands of visitors gathering in this park and holding parties. I visited this park last Christmas 2019 and that's when I witnessed thousands of people around this park.
The last time I visited this park, there were, I think two to three installations that serve as attractions to visitors. This time, there are more installations in some parts of the park like the two in the photos below.
I heard that there are more new installations in the area now with the theme Science in Art that will last until December this year. And I want to visit them one of these days. Those art installations are made by different local and foreign artists. They become the main attractions in the park.
The best time to visit this park is in the afternoon. It is such relaxing walking along the harbor and waiting for the sun to fall. It's another beautiful attraction. It doesn't matter staying up late in this park because the MTR station is just a few walks away from it.
That's all for today's #WednesdayWalk. See you next week 馃榿.
