"Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and beautiful."
- Norman Vincent Peale
Hong Kong is known to have grand Christmas decorations, transforming public places into winter wonderland. That's another attraction aside from its breathtaking hidden gems and stunning cityscapes. Once again, the best place to visit in December is the West Kowloon Cultural District, which is transformed into magical WinterFest adorned with beautiful colors and decorations of Christmas. A picturesque Christmas Town is set amidst Art Park that illuminates Victoria Harbor. This has been a cherished tradition in Hong Kong which brings joy and a sense of wonder to the festive season. The wonderland is always picture-perfect, and the best place to visit for some Christmas festive snapshots.
Beautifully adorned Christmas trees truly captivate one's gaze as they stand stunningly amidst the Christmas Town. The biggest and tallest Christmas tree, which is 20 meters tall, has colorful ornaments, a star tree topper, and multimedia light effects that show different colors of Christmas and synchronize with festive music. This elegant giant Christmas tree has been the main attraction over the years.
The Christmas Town isn't just magical, but a romantic place. The shimmering lights that brighten the darkest night create a warm and inviting atmosphere for lovers to gather and pose against a magical Christmas backdrop. Friends and families, young and old alike surely will have the best Christmas magic experience at Cultural District this holiday season.
The iconic companions of Santa Claus, the reindeer, are captivating as they glow with some touch of magic at Christmas Town. Their lightning effects truly create an elegant visual spectacle. A giant moon-like installation adds magic charm to the setting. Now you can imagine the reindeer ready to fly Santa's sleigh, and they pass by the illuminating moon, it would create a magical vibe up in the air which will give excitement to kids on Earth. I can imagine the sounds of Rudolph's bell and the iconic "Hohoho, Merry Christmas" coming from Santa.
As if tiny moons and crystal balls fall onto these tree canopies they glow and look enchanting. If catching them will make my wishes come true, I will definitely put on an effort to get one.
Shimmering and glowing ornaments and decorations are truly captivating. There are several photo booths to enjoy that fill our hearts with joy and love. Faces are always painted with happiness when posing against different Christmas installations.
There's a huge Santa gift box house at the corner of the Christmas Town. He would appear, interact, and snap photographs with guests at prearranged times. He wasn't there, though, when we were there. But his picture frame on his side table with the grand Christmas tree and lovely vintage lamp made it seem as though he was with us. The house is surrounded by sparkling lights and Christmas trees, while glowing reindeer stand watch over it. An ideal photo booth for all ages of friends and family.
This is one of my most memorable selfies with my friend. It was so worth it to queue in a long line just to enter this gift box house.
A portrait to frame someday. Such a picture-perfect spot for photo lovers.
This photo booth shows the symbol of Hong Kong Tourism against the iconic Hong Kong's harbor skyline. Beside me is Rudolph, ready to fly and create a magical vibe across Victoria Harbor.
This Christmas Town reminded us of the magic this time of year brings, and the power of love and togetherness. That's what Christmas is all about.
Indeed it was a magical experience. As we strolled through this town with mesmerizing Christmas lights and decorations, our hearts were filled with peace and joy that somehow faded the longing we felt being away from our family during the Christmas season.
Happy New Year everyone!
