An explosion shook the foundations of the building and illuminated the entire street for a brief moment. A loud buzzing drilled the hears of the small group of soldiers trying to leave through the semi-destroyed door.
An hour earlier, Captain Johnson and the members of his elite team, were peacefully resting after an intense day of patrolling through the city. The coalition commander had commissioned him to search and capture the rebel chief, who for three months had managed to avoid the capture of the city.
Johnson was a veteran and for him, this operation was another one more. For a month, he and his men had practically combed the city without finding any trace of the rebels. He was convinced that the intelligence report was false, he wasted his time. But the night of November 5th, the surprise was capital, between the smell of burning and dusting, everything was chaos.
-Sergeant Parker, where are you?- The captain shouted as he could, his ears ached and when he touched them, he felt like the hot blood gushed from his left ear, he couldn't believe what was happening, - Sergeant, answer! Suddenly, he felt a hand from behind touching his shoulder, although the room was dark, he could recognize the face of the rookie soldier, while taking his rifle with his right hand, he said troubled:
-Mitchell! are you okay?- The soldier answered immediately -Yes! Captain, and you? - Johnson also responds immediately:
-something stunned, nothing he can't tolerate- was an expression of confidence that the unit chief wanted to express to his subordinate, but the bottom of his being, told him something was up very bad. On other occasions, he had been in difficult situations, but this time it was different.
Suddenly, a second explosion was heard, much louder than the previous one. Johnson's group was small, fifteen highly trained and experienced men, with the exception of Mitchell, who was on his first mission. How could it be possible, they had surprised with the pants down?
-Mitchell, follow me, hurry- said the captain, they quickly dodged the obstacles towards the back door. Johnson turned his head to the left and saw the lifeless body of the sergeant and four other soldiers. I couldn't believe it, it was a nightmare.
Already out of the ruined building, he looked at the sky, incredible! It was the first thought that crossed his mind. It fell into account, the rebels were not the cause of their ills, but those ships that flowed out of nowhere intermittently and emitted beams of intense white lights that were destroying everything in their path.
Johnson for the first time in his life, felt helpless. How would he face such a threat? Nothing would stop them, meanwhile, the rest of the survivors of his team, looked at him silently begging for a solution that will save their lives.
