—¿Qué haces aquí José si no crees?

The medium

In a deep trance and with his eyes closed, the man asked to give him a shot of liquor. All those present viewed him with much suspicion, an entity from beyond used the medium's body as a vehicle to contact them in response to the invocation.

The entity laughed boasting about how good the material that channeled it, behind it, images of local deities and candles lit in total syncretism created a sober atmosphere enlivened with drum touches.

The entity claimed to be a distinguished person who had died, who was authorized to contact them and help them solve problems and even heal them if they were sick.

Among those present, José wondered if he was a scam, how a dead person would return to temporarily possess the body of a living person for such purposes. Curiosity led him to participate in this practice, he did not believe in it, but he had to check it for himself.

The entity turned to him without opening his eyes telling him

"What are you doing here, José, if you don't believe?"

José reacted with amazement, he had never had contact with the man supposedly possessed, answering him.

"Where do you know me from? It's the first time I've seen you."

"Of course I know you, I remember you very well!" And I know how incredulous you are.

Everyone turned to see José with a questioning and intimidating look. What fool invited him to the session? The entity took a drink yelling at it.

—It's been three years since you left the seminary, your excuse for the director, you don't believe in God because he has never answered you.

José swallowed when he heard it, none of them present had told that anecdote of his life, much less about the conversation he had with the director of the seminary when he resigned from being a priest.

"You're right," replied the ex-seminarian.

Whispers around before the sudden and imminent debate between José and the entity.

"What do you want, José?"

"Know who you are?"

"Why do you ask? You know the answer very well."

"You are not a dead man, for when humans die they stop being and go to sleep. Obviously you are a mocking demon."

A laugh chilled the blood of everyone present.

"You are right and what will you do about it?" If you don't believe in God.

"You are wrong, demon, you have misinterpreted me when listening to my resignation from the seminary. I resigned because I saw that in that place they do not abide by the most elemental commandments of the creator."

"What do you say?"

"You know what the hell to do if you're afraid of God."

A howl of disgust came from the possessed's mouth as he suddenly fell to the ground.

The session ended up leaving much thinking about what they witnessed, they would think twice before engaging in these practices again.

The end.
