The sighting
"James, did you watch the government news?"
"Which news?
"The one with the navy videos where planes record UFOs."
"Charles, hundreds of sightings are seen these days!"
"It is true, but the government that has been silent so far is admitting it."
"Are you surprised by that?"
"No, but I think it is great news."
"Have you never seen a UFO?"
"Only in movies." Charles replied.
"I will tell you the story where I saw three UFOs in one night."
"I really do not believe you!
"Too bad at that time cell phones with their cameras were not yet available."
Charles looked at him crossing his arms in disbelief. They both took seats on the porch chairs, the light from the fluorescent light bulb casting their shadows, and the crickets singing cut the silence.
"That night I went out to the outskirts of town, I walked as far as I could in order to avoid the lights and to see the star clusters. I remember very well, the beautiful clear sky, trying to visualize the constellations and identify stars and planets. "
"James, excuse me for interrupting you. How do you differentiate a star from a planet?"
"The stars flicker due to the great distance and the planets permanently reflect sunlight. Coincidentally, that was what caught my attention. Three celestial bodies above my head formed a perfect equilateral triangle."
"Part of a constellation?" Charles interrupted again, uncrossing his arms and bringing his left hand to the back of his head to scratch himself.
"No! The lights did not flicker, I wondered, what would they be, because planets are not either? For several minutes I did not stop observing them, when suddenly they moved at high speed in a straight line and without colliding until they disappeared."
"Wow, James! Couldn't it be that you were watching planes or helicopters?"
"I don't know? Although at no time did I hear sounds, they were definitely not planes or helicopters."
There was a brief silence between the two men until the voice of James' wife invited them in, dinner was ready.
"Charles! I appreciate that the lights didn't come to me back then, maybe I was very close to being abducted."
"James, the food is getting cold." The wife yelled sweetly from inside the house. "
"Come on, Charles, let's not keep her waiting. The aliens or whatever they are are out and the government knows it, the strange thing is that it is now that they surprisingly begin to admit it, they are up to something."
The end.
