This is James True. He's new to Steem and wanted to say "Hi" to this inspiringly positive community. He hired me to pretend to be him and write this bio. As you can tell, I am now pretending to be him pretending to not be him because I am a writer who enjoys a twist in my stories. I should probably get back to describing the guy in the picture instead of me.
I went to college and became very disillusioned with the academic world. It seemed to be too much indoctrination and not enough wisdom and learning. I studied Philosophy and Religion because I am obsessed with how we got here, why we are here, and most of all what is real and true. We are surrounded by dissonance and I write a lot about brain-washing lately. I think it's important we each reconnect with our own intuition and it feels like our society does a lot to try and prevent this.
I'm convinced we are living in a time where most of our fellow citizens are deeply unconscious. I love many of these people and many of them do not want to be woken. I keep forgetting this and rub people the wrong way a lot because of it. I would say I am an artist but I am more of a survivor than anything else.
Self-employed means never a dull moment
I've been in art & design for a good part of my life. I enjoy cartooning and writing and I wish I could do it more. For a living I write software and do trade show booths and augmented reality. I've been self-employed for a long time. It has its ups-and-downs. Right now, it's in a down. haha. The town cut off my water b/c I am waiting on a check that takes 60 days to get here. This is a typical story when your workflow is slower than you need it to be. It can be stressful but also very rewarding.
To be open... I go out at night now and turn on the water long enough to shower and brush my teeth. I paid the town half of my bill but that wasn't good enough for them. Harumph. I know in a few weeks I will be back to a more stable place with money. I suffered a loss that tore me up and I've been focusing on my feelings instead of my career for the past few years. Money hasn't been so important to me lately. I'm much happier now that it's mostly behind me.
Last winter I learned small electronics and microcontroller programming ala YouTube! I've created my first prototype this summer and I am learning the process of making a, injection molded case for it next. I blog about tech too I guess. Arduino, RPi, Unity, stuff like that.
Invent Yourself
Here is one of my first inventions. The adult-size sit-n-spin. It's made from shopping cart wheels, a telephone wire spool, and the steering column to my defunct 1971 VW Microbus.
I think the world is changing dramatically right now. Like ultra-dramatically. I gotta admit some fundamental paradigms have been shifting for me lately. I want to talk about it. I want to know if others see it too. Whether its government, aliens, religion, cosmology, physics, or hollywood, poles are shifting. I feel like it's my responsibility to be open about it and encourage conversation. I like not being on Facebook because none of you are expecting a certain position from me. I want to use this to my advantage to explore all the possibilities of this fractal universe.
The Campground
My lifelong goal is to do what i do on a campground. I'd like friends to come and make each campsite a little bit homier and the whole place turn into a forest trade school for robotics, software, and more. Basically an Anti-College. I've got it all mapped out, just waiting on the soil and the peeps to get started. Cool stuff keeps happening to me and I know I can find this campground if I stay focused. I've tried as best as I can to follow my intuition as it seems to know what's best for me. I want to surround myself with people who do the same.
Follow or comment if you think we could learn from each other. I have been looking to create a diverse pool of people for my feed. I welcome any suggestions or connections and thanks for being real.
