Death of 2 Celebrities- Lessons of Hope
Matt 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
We heard the death of two well-known personalities in the last 3 days. One was an international evangelist and a strong believer in Christ from USA. He had died at the age of 99 and was prepared and knew where he was going after death.

The other was a first female superstar of Indian film industry (Bollywood) aged 54, mother of two daughters. She has died suddenly, unexpectedly, shockingly due to cardiac arrest while attending a marriage of her relative in Dubai.

What is the difference ?
Their preparation and destination. One knew where he was going and confessed and prepared himself to go to his eternal Home! On the other hand, the other never knew where she was going and never prepared and death came suddently.
One committed his life to serve God and spent all his life in saving souls but the other in entertainment world accumulating huge wealth.
This clearly shows that our hope determines how we live and spend our lives in this world. Dr. Billy Graham believed in the Lord Jesus and always said that he was traveling in this world and his home is in heaven where he would be going one day after death.
Sridevi, the film actress, never knew where she was going and spent all her life to live for herself.
The Word of God warns us, what shall it profit a man if he wins the whole world but loses his own soul? Yes, what shall it profit? Nothing! This world is temporary and passing away. Those who trust in the Lord Jesus exprience eternal life and have the hope of going to heaven after they leave this world.
Faith in Christ alone gives hope of heaven and life after death. Nothing in this world: name, fame, wealth, status, power, profession or religion can secure any future hope of life after death.
The Bible says not to mourn or grieve for the passing away of believers like the people in the world who have no hope. Because, those who believe in Christ are sleeping to rise one day again when He comes back in His glory. However, those who die without Christ perish forever. They are already condemned because they did not believe in the Son of God. (1 Thess 4:13).
Make sure of your hope after death. Christ can give you that hope today. How shall you escape if you neglect so great salvation which He is offering today!? (Heb 2:3). Be Challenged!
