After quite a while I took some time again to make a long forest walk. It was really relaxing. I like the calm atmosphere and the good air (and as all steemians already know, to stay in nature actually may increase our intelligence). :)

Endlich nahm ich mir mal wieder die Zeit, einen langen Waldspaziergang zu machen. Es war sehr entspannend. Ich mag die ruhige Atmosphäre und die gute Waldluft (und wie alle Steemians bereits wissen, steigert ein Aufenthalt in der freien Natur möglicherweise sogar unser Denkvermögen). :)

Here an area where leaf trees are dominating.

Hier ein Areal, in dem Laubbäume dominieren.


In this zone are growing mainly coniferous trees. You can see ivy (Hedera helix) twining around some of them.

In diesem Waldbereich wachsen dagegen vor allem Nadelbäume. Man kann gut erkennen, wie sich an einigen von ihnen Efeu (Hedera helix) emporrankt.


The colorful butterfly on the left is called 'small tortoiseshell' (Aglais urticae).
The beautiful blooming plant, the 'purple foxglove' (Digitalis purpurea), is a valuable food source for bumblebees, but also extremely poisonous.

Bei der Pflanze handelt es sich um den 'Roten Fingerhut' (Digitalis purpurea). Sie ist zwar bezaubernd schön und eine nützliche Hummelpflanze, aber auch äußerst giftig.


This Hypogymnia physodes and other lichens are symbiotic relationships between fungi and photosynthetically active algae or cyanobacteria.

The 'Japanese knotweed' (Fallopia japonica) is a fast growing and very robust plant. This invasive neophyte is able to occupy large areas rather quickly by means of its horizontal expanding rhizomes and thus can threaten the domestic flora.
