It seems thoroughly plausible that bricks unload hidden secrets.
All you need to do is keep impacting your forehead until you realise that it hurts.
That's the same way to play Splinterlands.
Here, I provide to you, oh learned reader, the many pitfalls that I have learned. The metaphorical wisdom of head banging a brick.
I get it. You're ready to start the new season. You want to get out of the gate early and you're going to Top Gun yourself to the top of the leaderboards.
But you don't! You get smashed. There are more powerful combatants who are also using your defeats.. I said defeats... to streak forward.
Take a deeeeep breath. Maybe, pull back on the throttle. Don't panic. Otherwise, you break Rule 2.
When you panic at the beginning of the season you then smash down your ECR.
The more you play, the lower it gets. The lower it gets, the less points you receive. The less points you receive, the slower it is to move upwards, earn points, and you end up working harder than you need to.
If you are having a bad day. If you are losing alot. I'm using a rule of thumb now to keep my ECR, at least, above 75%.
Also, get some Gold cards, Alpha, Beta & Promos.
Another way that you can currently get your Points up is to use Alpha, Beta, Promo & Gold Cards. It is more effective to use Gold Versions of those releases.
It still might be cost effective to purchase cards outright.
I was able to pick up a couple of cards at a pretty good price.
One, fortuitously, because I actually bought the card before the new game format came out. Only due to the fact that I liked the card.
In this way you can get a % boost to the points.
Guilds provide a boost in DEC if they have upgraded certain Buildings.
Also, there are many other benefits of participating in a Guild.
There are Brawls & Gladiator cards. It is definately an aspect to raise your own Points, while also enjoying a whole other dimension of Splinterlands.
Unless you're going to win DEC from the Leaderboard, then the new format means, that the League you finish on, will determine the level of Chest that you will enjoy for the entire next season.
There are some cards that have quite a high CP, but are quite affordable. Shop around, look at different cards, even lower CP cards can add good points at higher card levels.
But that investment in DEC to rent might pay off during the season.
One of my chests gave me 7000 DEC which was a great boon.
Alot is trial and error. The new format is confronting for some but it provides a new paradigm to work out.
These insights are just my observations from the pains of headbanging a brick.
They are not financial, or investment, or flawless advice.
I just figured that there might be some pearls of wisdom that helps, or soothes, a fellow Splinterlands straggler.
