A huddle of a group gathered together, everyone is completely locked into their own little screen. I just had to capture that moment three young folks sitting close, heads down, totally immersed in whatever digital world they’ve got going on in their hands. I bet neck shoulder and fingers are stiff.
The process for this one was all about building up the shapes and layout until the composition felt right. I kept focusing on filling the canvas with these distinct blocks of color from the bright red shirt to the contrasting blacks and whites working away at it until the interaction between the figures finally came through. The one wearing red changed place unfortunately so I had difficult capturing his lower part. It’s funny how a simple digital sketch can capture that quiet, shared focus where nobody is really talking, but everyone is totally occupied.
It’s just another piece added to the collection, block by block, shape by shape, until the whole picture tells its own story
