I snap back into reality, having been dazed and confused.
I think "Where is my mind?" and realize it has been a
While since we last met. Three little birds, pitch by
My doorstep, singing about yesterday's certainties
And insights. Somewhere on a distant island, an Orphan
tilts his head to the sky and tries to hear his life story.
My reflection looks at me, but it wont
Make eye contact with me, the force is too strong.
"Why is it so hard to learn from my mistakes?"
So I lay my head upon the earth and start to imagine
Today as it really is. "What have I done?"
My three little birds, Chests of darkest night and eyes like a sith, shout
Their stories of tragic misery and utter despair as I descend into
The mouth of madness. Somewhere dark and lonely, a hate full (2 words)youth
Sends the black web of their soul out in all directions.
I am staring at my reflection, but the energy
from our eye contact startles me and I turn away.
"When did my life become such a beautiful disaster?"
I open my eyes and hear Eminem from across the parking lot,
A new hope reborn. Tomorrow comes for everyone, and I will be ready.
The three birds spread their wings, golden and amber,
The color of their energy, and I can fly. Somewhere under the stars
Two strangers share a moment, share a memory, share a lifetime.
My reflection and I look into each other's eyes, and are no longer overcome
By panic, ... or guilt, ... or regret.
"Who am I to become if I just be me?"
