Regardless of your political party affiliation, there's a secret life hack that will help you in the upcoming election:
You are under no obligation to support and defend the disgusting candidate your party has foisted upon you.
If your party has failed you, you don't need to hold your nose and support their candidate anyway. If you have been presented with a choice that violates everything in which you believe, you can refuse to support that choice. If you keep arguing that, "We just need to stop that OTHER PARTY this year, and we'll try for a better candidate next election," you're rewarding the party executives who betrayed everything you believe. If you're a Democrat, you don't need to support the warmongering corporate whore who has a long record of lies and corruption. If you're a Republican, you don't need to support the womanizing clown who is completely detached from your family values and threatens to expand government to trespass against individual rights. If you're a Libertarian, you don't need to support the candidate who clearly doesn't understand the foundational principles of your party platform.
You can vote third party, you can write in Mickey Mouse, or you can conscientiously abstain from voting to wash your hands of the whole mess. You don't need to hold your nose and choose someone you KNOW is evil, and can only hope is less evil than the other. You can take a stand. Your voice doesn't matter one whit if you toe the party line against your conscience, but even your silence has a deafening echo when you refuse to play along.
This election is the result of people trying to choose the lesser evils for decades. The only possible result is still evil, and it's time to stop choosing evil. Demand better. Withdraw your consent.
