I believe in respecting other individuals. I respect their right to life, liberty, and property. Because of this respect, I cannot support any politician campaigning for any government office, because government does not protect these rights, instead violating them as a necessary aspect of its operation. I do not have the authority to rule my neighbor, so I cannot possibly delegate such authority to anyone else on election day.

Every psychological study on the nature of authority and power demonstrates their corrupting nature, and shows how good people can do evil with the full approval of their own conscience. Every historical example of government shows the abuse and destruction wrought by those who claim to serve a "greater good" and provide "order." Public choice economics investigates and demonstrates the perverse incentives and economic calculation problems of those in power as well as the rational ignorance of the electorate.

I have no respect for "The Law," unless that phrase is referring to the essay by Bastiat. Legality has nothing whatsoever to do with morality, because it is just the scribblings of notoriously-corrupt politicians. Never forget that slavery was "legal," and the Underground Railroad was "illegal." Jim Crow was "legal." Conscription, war, and domestic police abuse are "legal." Legality excuses hell on earth.

There is no redemption in politics. It is a cancer upon society. Reject it.
