Problem: Battery won't charge, & battery indicator in dashboard turns on after running car for about 5-10 minutes.
Car: 1995 Dodge Neon, 2.0 SOHC, 5-speed.
Attempted fix: Replacement alternator from parts car. Didn't work. Tested old alternator at auto parts store, it passed all tests. Swapped it back in. Tested "new" replacement alternator at auto parts store, it also passed tests. The problem is definitely not the alternator.
Before you ask: The battery is good, the terminals have been cleaned, all wiring connections and belt tension at alternator are good. Voltage at battery posts is a flat 12 whether car is running or not. There is no fuse in the fuse box for the alternator circuit, so it isn't a fuse issue.
Questions: What else could cause a sudden failure to charge? Is there a fusible link between the alternator and battery? Is the power control module susceptible to causing this kind of failure? How can I fix this car? Any substantive help in the comments below would be appreciated.
