I have deeper concerns about A.I. used by governments and corporations.
Targeting decisions for airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery mean innocent people die.
Faulty data aggregation and analysis could mean innocent people may be arrested, imprisoned, or even executed while the guilty are ignored.
Several states are demanding all digital files from desktop 3D printers to commercial CNC machines be designed with tools to prevent "ghost gun" manufacturing. Not only is this insanely intrusive and in violation of legal protection for home manufacturing of firearms (legal since forever), it raises questions of protecting trade secrets, and offers no legal remedy for false positives preventing manufacturing of non-gun components.
Car companies promise to use A.I. to prevent drunk driving by analyzing driver behavior with surveillance cameras inside cars, where false positives can interrupt someone's day, or misinterpret emergency response as substance abuse and forbid someone from responding to disaster.
Intrusive advertisements and exploitative personal pricing were already concerns even before A.I. and data centers.
This barely scratches the surface.
