I have to say though, liking comedians and entertainers is different in the same way Australians accept indigenous Australians only if they are good at sport or the Indian who owns the local corner store is lovely but the rest threaten to take over the nation. It's an exceptionalism I feel uncomfortable with.

Fair criticism. There's also the stereotype here of someone saying, "I'm not racist, I have black friends!" and then saying outrageously racist things. I know I attended a political protest a couple decades ago, and a literal white nationalist present there commented that one Jewish activist was "one of the good ones" as if he was a rare exception among an inherently duplicitous race. However, I mean it as evidence against that presumption that "global Jewery" or other conspiracies like that are a real threat, because like with every culture, most are just minding their own business being members of society. Athletes, entertainers, economists, entrepreneurs, neighbors, whatever, I don't see anything to hate or fear based on some genetic guilt.
