There is good and bad with new technology. I chould build a Raspberry Pi into a standalone podcast player, which I believe is decidedly a step up from AM/FM and cassettes. I still use paper maps when possible, and dislike becoming reliant on GPS. I may see whether I can update an old GPS receiver unit I found just for giggles. I hate talking on the phone in general, so a landline would hardly hamper me.

Between concerns over Google data collection and the escalating enshittification of YouTube with ads, I am almost ready to abandon the platform. I already try to segregate it. I don't have Netflix or any of its myriad competitors who took a good idea and turned it into an expensive race to the least common denominator. I've always advocated personal libraries, public libraries, and physical media.
