I would argue the contrary. Ownership, when properly defined by homesteading and voluntary exchange of scarce physical goods, reduces conflict. What you do to your home and garden is within your sphere of authority and outside mine. No conflict appears. But the tragedy of the commons is all too common when there is no ownership.
