The whole setup, with water, probably weighs 40 lbs. Not as much as you might think, but more than I'd like, which is why I'm asking for advice. This depends on how much food I bring along, etc.

The Silky saw is great for cutting branches to length, whether for firewood or building a lean-to. I mentioned using the big knife to baton firewood. And there is a sentimental aspect because it was a gift. I have considered a hatchet, and I have a cheap one. However, for my limited and specific use cases, the saw seems a better option to me.
